Life in (and out) of the Word

There is only one way to put it. And that is to say that its like being a sponge which has dried up and hasn't tasted water for far too long. Meant to be full, even meant to be useful when full, but instead is a stale, flat, crusty object.

And it is a thirst. A true parchment that no amount of water can quench. Nothing can satisfy but that which is longed for.

How would it be to feel this thirst and not know where to find relief? That is a hopelessness, and a darkness, I pray will never cross my path. For I do know where to find my rest.

"For with You is the fountain of life;
in Your light do we see light."
Psalm 36:9

The lights of the world go out. But His Word can never be shut out. It is constant, flowing stream, refreshing the souls of the weary. Quenching the thirst of all who turn to it, bringing with it a joy and a peace which can be found nowhere else.There is no light apart from God. No love. No joy. No peace. In Him alone is the fullness of joy, and it overflows in abundance, blessing beyond measure or deserve.
