Dyson: the Future

Ladies and gentlemen, I have seen the future.

Let me introduce you to James Dyson. He studied art at Baym Shaw art school in London, and then architecture and marine engineering at Royal College of Art. James took basic products such as vacuum cleaners and fans, and pulled technology from things like saw mills and oil drills and turned simple into amazing. He has a patent on Airmuscle technology, and between that and Cyclone technology, James Dyson has revolutionized the way basic machines are run.

But he also dealt with simply reconstructing the build of a machine, rather than focusing solely on the technology of the thing. One of his earliest designs (which later was actually created and released) was the Ballbarrow, a wheelbarrow with a ball rather than a wheel, and as the description reads, the legs are more like "size 12 work boots rather than unpractical stilettos". Better maneuverability and more stable, all changed because of the build of the barrow.

His first product was the Dyson DC01, originally called the G-Force: the first vacuum cleaner to never lose suction. Nearly 20 years later, that vacuum still runs true to its created purpose. It is made with cyclone technology, and was the best selling and most used vacuum in the UK in just under two years.

He then created Dyson, an engineering company to match his needs, and very soon the company was off like a rocket. Their line has produced dozens of products, each with a new, fantastic twist to it.

One of Dyson's best selling and best known products is the DC25, also known as the Dysonball. It is a vacuum whose joint pivots on a ball, enabling you to easily reach into corners and move in angles previously awkward and uncomfortable.

But don't think Dyson is limited to vacuums.

Just when you thought fans couldn't get any more interesting, in stepped James with his team of Dyson engineers. Say hello to the Dyson Air Multipliers. And yes, you're seeing the pictures correctly; these fans have no blades. They're safer and more efficient. No blades means no air buffeting, so the airflow is steady and consistent (not to mention fascinating).

Their newest product is a hand dryer called the Dyson Airblade. Check that out, and then wait for it. They'll be popping up all over the place soon. You'll see.

Dyson are the providers of some of the best products I've ever seen, and I've seen and researched a lot of these products. Vacuums with ball joints and no-loss suction systems, fans with no blades and silent motors, hand dryers with HEPA filters and that take no more than 12 seconds to get the job done... Dyson knows what they're doing. And with James leading the way, there's no stopping them.
